Between running a live stream and trying to also manage the comments, running a contest during your lives can be a lot of work.

Why should you run a giveaway when live streaming?

- Keep people coming back (for a chance to win)
- Incentivizes users to tune in live
- If you have a sponsor, it’s a way for them to contribute
- Strategic moves
- Gaming the algorithm - they like engagement, people tuning in.
Ideas for what to give away
- Do you have a budget for your giveaway?
- 1-on-1 consulting
- Merchandise (t-shirts, sweatshirts, stickers, pillows, hats, pens, mousepad, etc)
- Free products - online course, training, graphic template, worksheet
- Gift cards
- Etc.

- Writing out the names of each entrant - free, time-consuming. Need an assistant.
- Ask a question and the first to answer is the winner - free, but need to find in the comments.

Things to consider when you’re doing a giveaway
- Involve your audience, screenshare the giveaway drawing.
- How often will you run your giveaway?
- Don’t forget to promote your giveaway.
- Let your viewers know there will be a giveaway. It keeps them watching until the very end.
- Be sure you have a way for them to contact you with whatever details are needed for you to fulfill the giveaway. Ex: private Facebook message, custom email address, etc.
- Include a hashtag to track your giveaway winners
